Canada-South Africa Chamber of Business Person of the Year Award

The Canada-South Africa Chamber of Business is delighted to announce the launch of the Person of the Year Award sponsored by Tau Capital Corporation. The selection process committee will be chaired by Henry Blumberg, the managing partner of Blumberg Segal LLP, Toronto law firm. Since he emigrated from South Africa in 1980 he has been an ardent supporter of cultural and business ties between Canada and South Africa.
"Real life success stories serve as motivation for us all" said Bruce Shapiro, President Canada-South Africa Chamber of Business.
The purpose of the annual award is to recognize and honour an individual resident in Canada, who has contributed significantly to business development between Canada and South Africa. In addition, in the joint name of the Tau Capital Corp. and the Chamber, an annual contribution will be made in the amount of $2,500 to the University of Cape Town Foundation for postgraduate University scholarships in South Africa.
"The principals of Tau Capital, being expatriots of South Africa, feel honoured to have the opportunity to sponsor this award as we are committed to promoting business relationships between Canada and South Africa," said Alan Friedman, Tau Capital's E.V.P of Corporate Development.
