Two articling students join Blumberg Segal LLP

Blumberg Segal LLP is pleased to announce the recent hiring of two articling students. Akbar Mohamed and Lize-Mari Swanepoel have recently joined our firm.
Akbar Mohamed will be practicing primarily in the area of litigation including personal injury and complex family law matters. Akbar is a South African lawyer and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. He successfully completed the National Committee for Accreditation Equivalency Certificate in 2002 and the LL.B. degree at the University of Western Ontario, London in April 2003. Akbar possesses approximately 18 years of legal experience in civil law, commercial law, personal injury law, and matrimonial law as well as substantial computer experience, including the planning, development and implementation of specialized legal software. While Akbar has a special interest in litigation, personal injury law and matrimonial law, his interests in different areas of the law continue to develop.
Lize-Mari Swanepoel will be primarily involved with corporate and commercial transactions and litigation. Lize-Mari Swanepoel has an LL.B. (cum laude) from Rand Afrikaans University in Johannesburg and was called to the Witwatersrand Bar and she proceeded to practice law as an advocate in Johannesburg. She successfully completed the National Committee for Accreditation Equivalency Certificate in 2003.
